Introducing the members of Daughters of St. Paul

Sr. Maria Teresia Katuko Imura

Sr. Maria Teresia

When I was 16 years old, I had a question in my heart: "Why am I living, and what am I heading for ?"As I could not find an answer, I felt anxious, and I started reading books about lives of many people.
One day, I have encountered the word of Jesus in the Bible: "I am the way, the truth and the life". (John 14 - 6) Ever since then, I began to listen carefully to Sisters and priests, trying to find out the meaning of what Jesus said.

This was how I began to learn the meaning and to head for the life to be united to God.
Two years later, the day of my baptism was the turning point in my life.

Light shone in my life which was foggy until then, and my steps became reliable and certain.

At the baptism, I asked God three things. One was so that I can always entrust my life to God and leave everything to Him.

During the celebration for the baptism, I told one of the Sisters, half joking: "If I fail the college entrance examination next year, I would become a nun."After this, Sisters asked me at different times, if I wished to become a nun. And each time, my "yes"became more firm and sure.

I entered the Congregation of the Daughters of Saint Paul seven years later.
It is a great joy for me to meet people who are seeking the way, the truth and the life, and to become their friends through communication and to help them.
